There we were, nibbling on kale tostadas and a quinoa sesame burrito at the V-Spot Cafe in Park Slope. I've been wanting to start a blog, and my lunch date—my beloved sister who happens to be a bit of a guru—gave me the courage to just start.
After a 25-year hiatus, I've returned to Brooklyn with a husband in tow. The kids have been raised; the house has been sold; the apartment is rented. I'm exploring the city as a grown-up now. A no-fucking-around grown UP. It's an interesting perspective, trying to figure out restaurants, activities, and neighborhoods as a kind of, ahem, how do I say it? older person.
I know a lot of people think about doing this: moving into the city, shedding the day-to-day drudgery of a house. Well, we've done it. I hope to inspire those who are considering it, offer up my very particular map, and hear from others in the process.
